.... and a question for you....

I am about to finish scripting the first german fic for the site and when I was checking it over and over I realised that it literally pisses me off to get asked about every lifer, his haircolour and his wife/ girlfriend.
What is you opinion? do you want more or less questions to answer when you open a new fic?
I'd prefer less, but I want your point of view.
Gimme some comments, peeps!! :)

I don't particulary fancy answering all these questions but then again, I also don't like it when facts ain't right. So if it's necessary, I'll answer the questions just so the story makes sense you know.
But when writing, when I plan on getting it up here, I always make sure not to add too many details. Coz let's face it, when you come here to read a story, do you really care what color your fourth lifers eyes are or what his girlfriend or wife looks like? Probs not. If they're there, that coz they're needed in the story. If they're not needed, I won't write them.
And for scripting, I don't think I've ever been able to finish scripting a fic with many details lol It's just a painnnn doing that :p

Thank you, Monique and Anja :)
So most probably we will keep scripting the lifers (maybe the writers can try not to use the words "hazle-green" and "ocean-blue" ;) ) but not all the people around (wifes, sibblings, etc.) look at worlds apart, it was a lot easier and not too much effort to read.
sounds good?

Sounds great, but then every writer has to make sure that for example the second lifer's wife's name isn't Monique, Anja or Chiara, else you'd have two girls with the same name in the fic which's very confusing.

hmmm.... true... how do we solve this?

Maybe script the girls' names (names only) and make sure that siblings (occur not as often as friends in fics anyway) etc. have an uncommon name??

I agree with Monique's comment. I don't mind putting in all the information if it will make sense when you are reading it. Although I do find it unnecessary to know the wife's or gf's hair or eye colour.

I have to agree with Monique, I have a bit of an OCD about that kinda thing and it irritates me more when you're reading a fic and Mark is described as blonde etc...

I try not to use a lot of detail when describing 'other lifers' or their partners unless it plays a part in the plot.
