Troubles...

Hey everyone!

We had a little unfortunate incident with some of our readers who took some stories and published it somewhere else without permission of the authors. Sadly we cannot do anything against it. If any of you wants to share a good story you've read on Neverland with some other people, it is no problem to give them a link or even the story IF YOU HAVE THE PERMISSION OF THE AUTHOR. Anything else is LITERARY PROPERTY THEFT and we don't want those kind of people, who do not respect the author's property, here on Neverland.
I made a note in my latest fiction and I'd suggest that from now on we'll put that note in every story.
What do you say? Do you have anything to say concerning this topic or any better suggestions to protect our writers?

I have no problem with people using mine on their facebook page but a little credit would be nice.
All the writers here have put a lot of thought, time and effort into their stories only for someone to come along, type the names into the boxes then copy and paste.
Have a little consideration for peoples work...

Can't believe people would do that, it's just sad really... Ugh!

It should be possible to add a code that prevents from selecting and copying the text on the page but I for one wouldn't like it much coz I very much like to copy the fics I love and put them on my e-reader to read them again and again and again lol But it would make it much harder to steal fics, don't think many people would go trough the trouble of re-typing the entire fic

Perfect Monique! If you have any idea how to add this code I'd really apreciate it!!!
Bah, I hate those people! It is MY property, even if I decide to share it! have a little respect you b******!!

I only saw them posting "Just in my imagination" and my first part of the summer challenge fic (on facebook), soon after we were kicked from both of them. They didn't claim it as their own but kind of gave each other those fics as "presents" or just posted it, but without our permission and without crediting us as authors. I demanded to delete my fic right away, but was told that they wouldn't do that and that I would be unfair and had no right to forbit that...? They can only be seen by their friends but I think that might be about 500 people? Honestly, it made me hopping mad, I just can't believe how damn stupid one can be...
Monique, I think the idea is good, but I do the same.... great stories I copy and paste... But maybe we could do that and if you'd like to have a great story then maybe ask the author for the word file

The only sad thing about his code is that, in my case I wont be able to read anymore, cause i cope most of them to my pc so i can put on my cell phone to read before i go to bed... but if it's the only way, then...

Delane, that would not be a problem, because we can send them to you via email. I dont mind people reading or sharing my fics but I dont want anyone to "sell" my fic as their own.
Take the link and copy it for all I care, but simply saying "it is online, so it is mine now" is very unpleasant!
what is the problem with fran and this other girl anyway? You want your own site and fics, well then, do it! It is not that hard, simply start a blog like neverland and publish your own stuff and find writers. What's the whole point in now stealing from neverland? Start your own site, it's a doddle! and if you dont manage, ask someone for help for fuck's sake!

I sent Enfys an inbox message on facebook, asking her to credit the writers and maybe the site. I explained that it's courtesy to ask or at the very least credit the people who actually spent time writing these fics. And although it's a compliment that they liked them enough to want to share them, they shouldn't have made it look like they actually wrote them.
Aside from the getting them to credit the writer and the site, and the suggestions here, there's not much else any of us can do

It isn't done with that. They have to ask each author of the fics they've taken if they're okay with it. Bex, you might be fine with that and that is alright, but I am not, even if they credit me as the writer...
Girls, if you read this, I don't think you wanted to harm anyone with it, but I want you to delete my story right away and send every author of the fics you've taken an email or whatever to ask, if you are allowed to do that. Anything else is respectless and plagiarism, as mentioned already.

Honestly i think it's ridiculous, i mean if you cant write good fics, then that's your problem, i mean i have never ssen anyone say a fic is bad here, but i hate this stealing thing tho, that's just stupid. but the sending thing is a nice idea tho
