The cold times are still out there...

Hey you guys!

We hope that everything is fine with you and that you have started well and healthy into the new year.
Over here in Europe the cold season has finally started and we have talked about the site and the people that are here to read and comment and that sometimes give us a very hard time.


There has not been a lot going on lately beside a long and not very polite discussion about someone who talked to many people and as many people didnt like the site and those people were hoping for more romantic fics and the fics are not romantic enough and some writers are really bad and write sad stuff. Putting it in a nutshell: more romance is required for some of you.

Now we need to ask you a question: What do you (our writers) need to come forward? 
Is it new ideas? Don't you find the time to write? Or is Westlife actually over for you?

We girls from the Staff have been pretty busy but if anyone has a story to share, romantic or not, dont hesitate to share it. We have agreed that every story is welcome here and we hope that comments like the ones we had here a couple of times didn't drive you away.
Like a book, a novel or a short story each of your stories should have highs and lows, that's what keeps a reader. The lifer can't just come home, make a baby and live happily ever after. We need romance as much as heartaches, suspense and tension. If you have a happy end to share, do so. As well as an unhappy ending or some drama.
As you may have realized, we have lables on every fic. Maybe we could add a little "Happy end- lable" for those of you who strictly need a happy ending. Others might be sad because they dont want it spoiled...



But still we have a little preview into the things that are to come for you. These are Neverland's 2016-Plans and we really hope for a few more writers and nice comments:

• C&R crossroads and roundabouts: We are currently working on four fics with four authors and it is a blast! We can't wait for the finished fics!
• Contest: The contest is still up and running! We had planned it until October 2015, but we only have one fic in by now so if you still want to participate on the time-travel-storyline, go ahead! We will postpone the submission date for another three months until the end of March 2016.
  So open you laptop and give it a go!
• Favourite Stories... we had once started talking about favourite stories. Maybe we can persuade some of the writers to tell us which of their own fics is their favourite and why?
  All readers are of course more than welcome to join in, let us know which of neverland's many fics is your favourite and why.
  But! And this is a big but: We dont want people to simply set up a clamour and go into rant against some writer or a story. So be nice and if you have nothing nice to say please have the decency not to insult the others

Crossroads and Roundabouts & Fiction Contest

Hi guys,

As you all know, we're always looking for new stories and ways to challenge you all to write.

Back in the day there used to be at least one Fiction Contest a year. There was a set theme which had to play a role in your story but other than that you were free to write whatever. There was about 4 months to get the story written, then all the stories would be scripted and posted to the site for everyone to judge. The winner got featured in the sidebar and got to pick a new theme.
We would love to bring this back. Since it's been so long since the last contest, we're going to let you guys pick the theme. Have an idea? Post it in the comment-section below and we'll make a poll with the suggestions. Suggestions can be made till 21/6, then a poll will go up so that we can start the new season at the beginning of July.

Another favorite of ours was the Crossroads and Roundabouts. In this challenge you write on not one, not two but on four stories! But you won't be doing it alone, you'll get help from others willing to join in on the challenge.
All the stories will consist of four parts: beginning, middle part 1 and 2 and the end. You'll start with the beginning on fic 1, then you'll write middle part 1 on fic 2, middle part 2 on fic 3 and the end of fic 4.

If you want in on this challenge, drop us an email at neverland.fics@gmail.com putting Crossroads and Roundabouts as a subject.
But! Think before joining in. If you want in, you're in for the long run, meaning;
* You're able to write a minimum of 5-10 pages a month, four times.
* Your English is well enough for other participants to work with. They will be finishing what you've started after all.

Signing up for C&R starts now and is open till june 27. If there's enough participants by then, you'll be sent any info you might require before july 1st, the official starting date.
You'll be expected to send your part 3 days before the end of the month at the latest so that everyone can be sent their next part to work on before the new month begins.

Crossroads and Roundabouts! Part 2

Hey everyone!!

If you still want to participate and start our first “Crossroads and Roundabouts” write an email, we are waiting for your messages until the 25^th of August. 
Starting shot for the first part is the 1^st of September, first switch of stories 1^st of November.

Most pobably we will have to toss up for the first four places but there is gonna be another round strating in March 2012, if there are many more writers to join it maybe even earlier.

Crossroads and Roundabouts!

Hey everyone!

As we promised, a new challenge for all of you to participate!

This first round of „Crossroads and Roundabouts“ is supposed to be a pilot project to see if we can start a semi-annual event of it.

Now here’s the deal for you:

We need 4 ambitious writers to start C&R. There are 4 stories to write together by all 4  of you. First there is a “Free Story”, freestyle, your own ideas, something you always wanted to write and let the world know about. The other fic for you is a starter, let’s say a longer quote, a situation for you and your lifer, you have to pick up and continue the storyline.

So: 2 of you start writing on the “Free Story”, the other 2 writers pick up the “Starter Story” (randomly chosen by the staff – You are categorised as A, B, C, and D to work the most statistical for the randomisation, a kind-of-cross-over-design we have planned for you ).

Now all 4 of you are challenged to write the beginning of your story. You are given 4 weeks and we expect you to write about 5-10 pages, more if you wish, then you send the stories in (neverland.fics@gmail.com) and we use the crossover-scheme to sign you up for the next story.

So writer A starts one of the free stories for example. After A has finished her part, it is sent in and we will give it to writer C to continue. Then it is given to writer B and in the end writer D finishes the story.

Writer B starts another free storry. After finishing the first par it is given to writer D, then writer A, then writer C to finish it.

Writer C starts a starter story, it is given to writer A, then writer D, then writer B. Another Z in the cross.

Writer D starts writing the other starter story, it is given to writer B, then writer C, and in the end writer A finishes the story. 

As you can see: The new thing about it is, that each of the writers takes over each story once and has to complete one part of every story! (beginning, middle part one or two, end)

It is almost like those chain-letter-stories most of you might still remember from primary school.

In the end we should have four complete stories. We will script them and put them all online for you to read and enjoy the first fruits of Neverland's Crossroads and Roundabouts :)
