Hm... now that was a totally different reaction than we had expected...
Of course life can be nice and we do not only want you to write about drama and death, that was not the intention and it is also not what "differentialy" means to us.
Since we are not that much into the band but the writing, we wanted to give opportunities and ideas to those that are interested. Of course happy endings and a marriage in the end are a lovely thing! But considering all the fics we share on the site we got about 300 stories that are very similar. We don't of course expect you to write about a killing virus or zombies (only if you really want to!! :) ) and we don't need death and drama in every chapter. But we wish to see characters evolve and change, we wish to make the best of every scene in our own fics and of course we want your fics to be interesting to read, even for a person that is not a fan of westlife.
It is not the case that you are treated like children and that we expect an essay or exposé from you for every fic you write, but we always saw the chance of having a writers site in neverland. A real writers site with discussing and working on fics together, creating and joggling with ideas that are... well, sometimes also different. Historical for example. Or including drugs, illness, different points of view on life or death, stories you and others would wanna read as a book and even buy in a bookstore.
We didnt say, bah, everything around here is bad and boring, that is not the case! But there could be more ideas, and we always wished that we could encourage you and hoped that you would enjoy the ideas we give to you every now and then... it is never meant as a stencil, we don't want to tell you what to do, how to write, always according to the patern.
If you are not interested in using the ideas, you can always skip it, ignore the posts.
But we still wish for neverland to be a writers site and we want to keep all of you that are interested busy with good ideas.
And we decided to skip the fic-discussion because it sounded like the discussion is not what you wish for. You may now start asking for your challenges, please add again if you want to have a starter-fic.
It might take us a few days to answer your requests though.

I mean, not everybody can write drama and death and heartbreak... I know I cannot do that.
I love my happy endings too much... that is what I think fiction is all about, personally. I get to write what appeals to me and I know some people will like and some people won't. But I write about what's true to my heart.
I didn't think you were trying to change anyone's writing style or forcing us to follow certain guidelines. It actually looked like tips for newcomers, or for the not-so-new writers to try and reach their full potential.
I still think the 3 month space is a good thing. We are all busy and although I would love to write for Neverland 24/7, sometimes life gets in the way of fiction. It should give all of us enough time to get the work done and do it right.
That's my 2 cents!
I'm looking forward to getting my challenge ideas. I like a bit of research. If you saw my google history and things i've looked up for fics, you'd be worried haha

It is based on starter 1 and it includes a kidnapping in 1600, a monk that has turned his back to church and his friends from an Irish militia, that are after being betrayed, trying to save a girl... lovey dovey, it has a lot of cruelty and brutality before the girl gets saved, but it is still a love story :)

we thought about discussing the main characters and the way they develope during the fic. Also maybe the different points of view and the scenes with the twists and betrayel in it,the tension and the realization of the whole plot and the love story.
I am curious where ut takes us and what you would have made of it or what you would have added
