Hey everyone!
We hope you all had a nice weekend and wish you a great start into the new week!!

As you may have realised, Steffi and I are trying to come up with new stuff for you and we just realised some time ago that we have so many writers, but we don't know a thing about most of them. Also, many people are asking about fics, looking for them without knowing the name or the author. That is why we decided to start something we would like to call ALL EYES ON...
Actually we stole that line from VIVA, but it fits perfectly.

ALL EYES ON... is your chance as a writer to stand in the spotlight and talk about yourself, your fics, your point of view, everything that matters to you concerning fics, writing, Neverland and fanfiction.
We designed it as a weekly update, so that you will start "meeting" and getting to know everyone around here. First we thought about maybe doing it alphabetically, but then again... maybe there is someone around who wants to start it!
You know the drill, write an email (neverland.fics@gmail.com) if you want to participate and perhaps write a little more than there already is in your authors profile. Otherwise we will simply take the given information.
Also, if you don't want us to talk about you, your fics or anything, just let us know. Other than that we will soon start with a weekly update and present you and your fics to everyone.
ON WITH IT! :)

Another point for the ALL EYES ON: Neverland has always been a place for good westlife-fanfictions and you have been pampered and spoiled with many great fics during the last years. But don't loose sight of one thing: The writers are pretty different concerning age, cultural background, life and writing experience. So you have to know the people writing before you can talk about their fics and rate them. Otherwise you'll give some hard working-trying her best 14 year-old from Malawi an "alright" instead of honouring her great effort.
We want everybody to write and enjoy it so be careful with your judgement, alright?
You can always rate someone like me or Steffi the hard way (you don't have to though *pleading look*), we can take it because we are old enough and we know quite as well that we are not natives and sometimes we definitely make stupid mistakes.

But here are now the first ones to be in the focus of attention: Sarah and Sofie
You can best use their "ALL EYES ON"-example for your own presentation.

Hey everyone,

some days ago we talked about Christmas presents and remembered some gifts we got the last Christmases... many good things, but also some things... well, to be honest the biggest rubbish :)

We had the idea now for a little mini Christmas challenge with the theme "TERRIBLE CHRISTMAS GIFTS". Everyone who wants to can write a bit about it, a little story (1-5 pages), a poem or just an essay in which you can rant about your most terrible gift you got for Christmas. If you can, make a comedy out of it that we can have a little funny Neverland christmas party with your fictions.

You should send us your works at the latest by the 20th of December (if we must script something, please make it a bit earlier?).

Since I quit one of my jobs in July and the other one not too long ago, I found something new but it seems that I have the tendency to be a little freaky and until christmas it is two jobs again... Dear Neverlanders,

on a night out, when we got pushed to the avenue of the rising sun and Noa fell in love while Steffi was swept off her feet, we came to a decision...:) (just kidding)

Closing the site was never really an option for us as we love Neverland and all of the fics we host here far too much, but keeping it like this, where any random internet surfer can copy and paste our beloved stories and sell it as his/her/their own is not a good solution as well. As already mentioned we want to protect our writers from plagiarism, and there are three options that we discussed:

Lock the site and give only the honest readers an access to it, BUT... who is an honest reader, who is not? And if someone wants to join us, how can we test her honesty? That's not possible and we'd never permit a person the access who'd ask friendly if she can join us. Also some internet surfers who pop by on our site won't read the stories and we think that would be a pity.
Put a copy-stop in every fiction, BUT... many of you didn't like this suggestion as they put their names in the stories, copy and paste them and make a pdf-file or whatever out of it to read it on their e-reader etc.
Put in every story a "do-not-steal-respect-the-author's-property"-note BUT... it doesn't stop a person from stealing the fiction who really intends to do it, but we think that it maybe gives the person second thoughts, if she gets reminded that the story is property of the author and may not published elsewhere without the author's permission etc.

We decided for option 3, although we won't put that note in every story we host here as we have more than 400, but we'll do it from now on.

All of you who send us fics must be aware of the risk, that her fic can be taken from someone and be published elsewhere. But what can be done, by all of us, is that we keep our eyes open, communicate with the webbies/staff of other Westlife-fanfic-websites and look for fics from time to time, for example on google (copy and paste one or two lines and let google do the search).

We'd copy this note on top / below the fictions (see Steffi's latest fic):

Hey everyone!

We had a little unfortunate incident with some of our readers who took some stories and published it somewhere else without permission of the authors. Sadly we cannot do anything against it. If any of you wants to share a good story you've read on Neverland with some other people, it is no problem to give them a link or even the story IF YOU HAVE THE PERMISSION OF THE AUTHOR. Anything else is LITERARY PROPERTY THEFT and we don't want those kind of people, who do not respect the author's property, here on Neverland.

I made a note in my latest fiction and I'd suggest that from now on we'll put that note in every story.

What do you say? Do you have anything to say concerning this topic or any better suggestions to protect our writers?

I am about to finish scripting the first german fic for the site and when I was checking it over and over I realised that it literally pisses me off to get asked about every lifer, his haircolour and his wife/ girlfriend.
What is you opinion? do you want more or less questions to answer when you open a new fic?
I'd prefer less, but I want your point of view.

Dear Neverlanders,
since we have so many great fics and loads of writers (Westlife-Superfans, Beginners, Blogger, Native-Speakers, Translaters, In-Betweeners, Otherthanthat) we want to give you the opportunity to discuss fics and give some more feedback to the writers.
On the forum Steffi and I started a new thread for that, so go there and check it out!!
The first fic to discuss (if you dont have other preferences of course) would be Worlds Apart, because it seems that many of you were literally poleaxed by it :) (which was - to be very honest - my intention)

a little update for the challenge:
Bex asked about the "You-Are-option". It is new, we came up with it to keep it a little more exciting for you guys :) Now you have to deal with a lifer and a location, als well as characteristic features and "you are", meaning your job/occupation. Some of you made a nice pick, e.g. being sophisticated and XXXX but also chance gave them university as a location. But be aware, you might as well be a till girl and your location might be a sock factory (I am making these up btw ;) )
So mail and get your challenge, if there are any more questions, just let us know!

And also: please don't ask over and over for new challenges just because yours is not about your favourite life, ok? Just give it a try with any of the lads, make a story up, it does not necessarily be about yourself, make up a girl, give her a name and let her fall for/marry/divorce/hate/kiss/beat up the given lifer! It is called CHALLENGE for a reason, otherwise we would have it renamed "bed of roses" or "children's birthday party"

Strictly 18+, might be disturbing to a sensitive soul!

Hey there everyone!
Since I won't be allowed to participate in the contest, I want at least give you some new fic to read and enjoy :) To some of you it might be a little disturbing that is why we have chosen to announce a "strictly 18+" for this one, not only for sexual content but also some psychological issues that can be found in this fic.
I hope you'll like it, we will update it today and give you another part on Wednesday to shorten the time between two updates a little for you.

Don't be too surprised, in this story you have a couple of sibblings and a family given. You also have an (ex)boyfriend that can not be chosen. Scripting every person would leave you with answering about 50 questions in advance that is why I dismissed that idea right away.

Good morning peeps!

Another week is almost over and only yesterday inspiration suddenly hit me... as you may know, Steffi and I don't have much time beside all the stuff we have going on with work and private life, but we try our best. And while I was revising some student's thesis I got bitten by sudden inspiration for a fic I had started years ago... the tattoo-theme for the contest. And I almost finished it which lifted my spirits and literally made me jump.
Anyhow, since I am staff by now I won't be able to participate in the contest itself but maybe I can update my fic anyway and make your mouths water at the sight of the cake yet to come :)
As a reminder: "due-date" for the contest is the end of December, so you still have some time to finish your own fics or maybe even start on something.

So... one of next weeks updates will be part of the contest-theme already. Stay tuned, I hope you'll like it!

Apart from that: Many fics have been sent during the last months and since Steffi and I life quite far from each other, coordination only works via email and chat, so don't be mad if we don't manage to script and update your fics in order and let us know if you have sent something that maybe got lost somewhere along the way, we will check on it and give you feeback! Just write the fics name in an email, send it in neverland.fics@gmail.com and we will try to find it.

Dear Neverlanders,

the last few weeks we received so many new fics from you, which’s a great and fantastic thing. We have so many stories now that it won’t be enough to update just once in a week, so we will have Thursday as an update-day as well and we’re so glad about that, because more stories mean more fun!!

As you can imagine well, keeping the site alive and scripting all of your stories isn’t always an easy task. It takes time, a lot of time, and neither Noa nor I have much of it. Noa has a little baby girl and a job as well, I am terribly busy with my studies since I’ll do my final exams in March next year.

Nevertheless we do our best and we love to do it, because besides the hard work it’s a lot of fun and makes us happy. But we both noticed that there is one thing which takes most of the time and it’s something all of you could help us with: the revising of your stories.

None of us is perfect as English isn’t the mother tongue of most writers here, but we’ll do our best and so should you. We don’t want you to write in a perfect English without any mistakes, that’s not possible, but there are just a few general “rules” (story-writing) that all of you could follow quite easily while writing your stories. Please read them carefully and check your writing on them. We will keep checking your stories for little mistakes as typos and stuff, but if there is too much of it and we got the impression that you didn’t do your task properly to revise it yourself, we’ll send it back to you.

After you have revised your story and want to send it to us, please note these issues about submitting your story. It would help us a lot and save time if you could at least give us the information about your main characters…

Additionally Noa and I had the idea that all of us could comment stories more critically on the style of writing. Not to annihilate authors with that, but to give them the chance to get constructive criticism (if requested), because very often the author doesn’t notice the things on his/her story, which are good or not that good (things as multiple repetitions of a word or a phrase, switching of tenses, boring/exciting plot etc.).

It only should be a chance to improve your writing and can be done by each of you if the author requests it.

Hey everyone,

as you already knew only 4 writers can participate on "Crossroads&Roundabouts". As there were a few more who wanted to participate we had to draw lots and finally the four writers for our first C&R are:

Some information on Neverland's Contests:

Every few months a new contest. Dates will be set.

The theme will be chosen by the last season's winner author. They'll choose the subject they want and if new rules should be applied for the season in question. The seasons will be numbered [Season 01, Season 02...].

There will be dates for sending, publishing and voting. We'll let you know about the dates when the time comes, but basically it should be like that:

Four months for submitting the story, then the following, the fifth month, will be set for knowing the contestants and furthermore, voting. The final day for submiting a story is the 10th [from the fifth month]; afterwards we'll talke time to script the stories, publish them and just then start the voting, probably before the 20th day. The voting time might run for about 10 days, and when its closed, the winner must be announced. As soon as we have an answer from the author who won the season about a theme for the next one, it'll be published too.

There are some rules that should be applied for all the seasons.

The size of the story. As it's over four months you'll have to write, then it's more than enough to write more than only a few pages. But, there's no size limit anymore, you can write what you manage and submit it to us up to the final date, just as long as the story contains all the requested for the season.

As you must already know, here in Neverland we revise all the stories before publishing them. And the same goes for the submitions for the contest, we'll script and revise them; obviously with all duo respect to the writers, we won't change anything from your story, just correct grammer error, expression errors. But, even if we are going to do it, you should revise your own fic first hand indeed before submiting it; it surely won't do you harm to re-read what you just wrote.

Only one story per author. Submit it to neverland.fics@gmail.com with the subject 'Contest Season__' [input the current season, 1, 2, 3...]. Also, it's no different from any other submited story, so, the rules for 'Submit a Story' in the 'Fan' page also applies for the contest. Who's paired with who [names please], a teaser, a rating, original 'Lifer or not, etc. - All this information is required, so please let us know.

Obs: A suggestion, do not write about an especific 'Lifer, for Original 'Lifer Story, for the contest. People like to read the stories with them and their faves, so if you write about Shane, for example, it may limit the story for Shane fans and maybe lower your chances for people to read and, therefore, vote. However, it's only a suggestion, what you write or not is up to you.

For the winners who'll pick a theme, we ask them not to choose the theme based on TV shows. People have different taste and not everyone watches the same things on the telly. The themes must reach everyone, and not being limited.

Also, no songfics. The main reason for that is that songfics are usually too small, with 3 or 4 pages, because mostly people write less of the story and the song lyrics occupy the most of the pages. So, if you want to choose a song to be theme, that’s ok, so the person can write a story based on it, but not a songfic the way we have it. The main thing must be the story, not the lyrics from the song. [I hope it makes sense, lol] - And also because of the Challenge, which may have songs as a theme sometimes.

Crossroads and Roundabouts!

Hey everyone!

As we promised, a new challenge for all of you to participate!

This first round of „Crossroads and Roundabouts“ is supposed to be a pilot project to see if we can start a semi-annual event of it.

Now here’s the deal for you:

We need 4 ambitious writers to start C&R. There are 4 stories to write together by all 4 of you. First there is a “Free Story”, freestyle, your own ideas, something you always wanted to write and let the world know about. The other fic for you is a starter, let’s say a longer quote, a situation for you and your lifer, you have to pick up and continue the storyline.

So: 2 of you start writing on the “Free Story”, the other 2 writers pick up the “Starter Story” (randomly chosen by the staff – You are categorised as A, B, C, and D to work the most statistical for the randomisation, a kind-of-cross-over-design we have planned for you ).

Now all 4 of you are challenged to write the beginning of your story. You are given 4 weeks and we expect you to write about 5-10 pages, more if you wish, then you send the stories in (neverland.fics@gmail.com) and we use the crossover-scheme to sign you up for the next story.

So writer A starts one of the free stories for example. After A has finished her part, it is sent in and we will give it to writer C to continue. Then it is given to writer B and in the end writer D finishes the story.

Writer B starts another free storry. After finishing the first par it is given to writer D, then writer A, then writer C to finish it.

now imagine the crossing over we desinged like a turned, a rotated Z

Writer C starts a starter story, it is given to writer A, then writer D, then writer B. Another Z in the cross.

Writer D starts writing the other starter story, it is given to writer B, then writer C, and in the end writer A finishes the story.

As you can see: The new thing about it is, that each of the writers takes over each story once and has to complete one part of every story! (beginning, middle part one or two, end)

It is almost like those chain-letter-stories most of you might still remember from primary school.

In the end we should have four complete stories. We will script them and put them all online for you to read and enjoy the first fruits of Neverland's Crossroads and Roundabouts :)

So now, wrack your brains, send us an email and participate!! :)

Hello you all, long time no see.

But, let's cut to the chase: I'm officially out of Neverland. I've sorted all the fics on a free server, so I'm not closing the site. I just can't work in it anymore. So, if anyone is interested in taking over, or know of someone interested, come talk to me and I shall give you/them the necessary information to carry on with Neverland.

I know it took me some time to sort everything out in this blog, so I apologize for that, and finally it is done. I grew out of Westlife and thus fictions about them, so I do know I've been neglecting the site for a while, not doing a proper and decent work it demands. It took me longer than I thought to sort it all out - hosting the site in a blog, uploading every single fiction on a free host, and so on, so, sorry about that.

Hello everyone, now this is the new home of Neverland Fictions. Everything is the same, only in a blog format, and much simpler. I hope you like the idea.

However, there are things not too good to mention here. As you know, I spent the last couple of months or so working to fix the site, and my idea to make things simpler was using a blog. It took time, but it's done now. I'm working on the site alone, and it's no secret I'm past Westlife and fics about them, which makes it difficult for Neverland. I never wanted to close the site, and I still don't. Out of respect to writers and readers, closing it down could never be an option, as I know myself the effort it takes to write, and the pleasure it is to read when you're into this kind of stories.

Saying that, I must state I can't take care of this site alone, if at all. So help is needed. For scripting, for beta-reading, and mainly to manage the blog. Also, a new server will be needed in the near future. All the stories are still hosted on n-everland.com, but it will expire in December/January - and I won't pay to renew it. So, if anyone knows a free host where we can upload the stories, shout out - it's basically just the fictions and a few extra pages, like the form ones (submitting challenge, author), so it's not heavy at all. Let's solve this thing together, so Neverland can go on for a long time. The Blog is made, so the heavy work is gone as well.

Another important thing is the help with scripting and beta-reading. Your call, people, we can make a team for helpers, share the work that needs to be done. The more people we can gather, less work everyone will have to do. It does take time, but Neverland shall not be your priority. Fan Fiction is supposed to be fun, so let's make it entertainment.

This is basically all. Give it a shout if you can help somehow, it certainly will be appreciated.

Well, i usualy write my fictions inspired in some movies, dreams, nightmares and some facts in my day life.

When and why did you start writing fan fictions?

It was about some years ago, I used to write horror stories inspired in my nightmares, then I've decided to change the genre and turn the nigtmares into Westlife stories. Since I love Bryan, my dreams are all about him, everynight I have to write some lines for a new fan fiction.

What do you like on fan fictions, when you're reading them?

First, I read the teaser, the rating and the number of pages. So, in the fan fiction, I love to envolve myself in the stories, even when I'm reading a book.

My stories...Someone said, write down what is the innermost of your soul. Noone can forbid you your dreams. And I think that's what authors of fanfic's do, live their dreams and if someone will read it, she/he will relive your dreams and get happy or find a soulmate. I hope, I can do that with my stories (I've posted only one here :o)but there are more to come). So hope you enjoy it! Le grá, Ann

When and why did you start writing fan fictions?

It was about...12 years ago when I started writing a huge fan fic which is in a map on my attic now, coz it is about another chapter of my life with stars (I was a Nick Carter and Ben Boyce-Fan as I was 12). I wrote it because it was something like a diary but a lot more for me, coz everthing that happened in real life I could work out there (but with an happy ending):o) And still when I'm fed up with my destiny I write down a fan fic where Shane can take me in his arms and help me get through. I am getting to much in detail now...so finito.

What do you like on fan fictions, when you're reading them?

I like...to get to my Neverland, reading them is like really being close to Shane, Nicky, Kian and Mark. And as I was in Sligo so often now, I can look at the photos and read the fanfics and be home again...

My stories...are inspired by what I am feeling emotionally and also what event is happening in my life at the time.

When and why did you start writing fan fictions?

It was about...a year ago I was just going through a rough patch that I started to write the stories which are all based on the bad things that have happend in my life.

What do you like on fan fictions, when you're reading them?

I like...romance, love and the suspense that is put into them and the fact that it can take awhile for both parties to realise that they have feelings for each other.

My stories are contemporary... all in the AU genre. I like to play with things and sometimes, I can be verrrry impossible when writing. Like, I tend to break the "rules" of office romance. Haha!

When and why did you start writing fan fictions?

I started writing when I was 11. But my works back then were all scripted... as in almost like a movie script to specify who's saying what. Only about two years ago when I practiced to write a paragraph-like stories.

What do you like on fan fictions, when you're reading them?

I like the fact that they're interactive! I can be my own character!

I think I still can learn a lot of writing. I mostly have enough inspiration, but Ihave problems with writing them down. I prefer to write stories that are close to my reallife, it is easier to write then. also I like to give it something special, like writing like a dairy, or trough phonecalls or letters, or I try to give someone a weird job or something.

All in all, I do really enjoy writing and I hope to grow through time.

When and why did you start writing fan fictions?

Difficult to tell, I wrote one complete fic before but it ain't good. I mostly start on a story but I barely finish them. so actually this is my first fic that I post online (It's You). I started writing on this fic like 2 weeks ago. I've read fics for like 4 years or so now and from the beginning I always wanted to write myself, but it never worked out.

What do you like on fan fictions, when you're reading them?

I really love fics that take place in the middle ages, it gives something romantic to them. Also teen-fics I love since I am one myself. A fic is good for me when it is something out of daily life, you can reconise it but still it is a dream of what you know probably won't come true. That is why it is so great to read it here.
